Spicy Turkey Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced

  • 1 red bell pepper, diced

  • 1 yellow bell pepper, diced

  • 1 28 oz can tomato sauce

  • 1 15 oz can petite diced tomatoes

  • 1 15 oz can black beans, drained and rinsed

  • 1 15 oz can kidney beans, drained and rinsed

  • 1 16 oz jar sliced jalapeno peppers, drained

  • 1 Tbsp chili powder

  • 1/2 Tbsp cumin

  • 1/4 tsp garlic salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • Splash of chicken broth

  • Toppings: green onion, avocado, shredded cheese, plain Greek yogurt

Directions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey to hot pan and cook until browned.

  2. Add turkey and all other ingredients into slow cooker. Stir together.

  3. Cook on high for 5 hours or on low for 8 hours, stirring occasionally. Serve with toppings of choice.

Tips: Use food processor to chop onion and bell peppers. Reduce chili powder or eliminate jalapeños for a more mild chili.
