Spicy Turkey Chili
1 lb ground turkey
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 medium yellow onion, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 yellow bell pepper, diced
1 28 oz can tomato sauce
1 15 oz can petite diced tomatoes
1 15 oz can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 15 oz can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 16 oz jar sliced jalapeno peppers, drained
1 Tbsp chili powder
1/2 Tbsp cumin
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Splash of chicken broth
Toppings: green onion, avocado, shredded cheese, plain Greek yogurt
Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey to hot pan and cook until browned.
Add turkey and all other ingredients into slow cooker. Stir together.
Cook on high for 5 hours or on low for 8 hours, stirring occasionally. Serve with toppings of choice.
Tips: Use food processor to chop onion and bell peppers. Reduce chili powder or eliminate jalapeños for a more mild chili.
